How Pet Cremation Works: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide

Understanding the cremation process can bring comfort during a difficult time. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough of how we care for your pet.

Step 1: Initial Contact & Pickup

We offer 24/7 availability. Once you call, we arrange a compassionate pickup typically within 1-4 hours using a secure vehicle designed for pet aftercare.

Step 2: Identification (PTID)

Upon arrival, your pet is assigned a unique Pet Tracking ID (PTID). This stays with them throughout the entire process to ensure 100% accuracy.

Step 3: The Cremation

For private cremation, your pet is placed alone in the chamber. The process takes 2-4 hours at temperatures between 1400-1800°F. For communal, pets are cremated together.

Step 4: Processing & Return

Remaining bone fragments are processed into a fine ash. For private cremation, these are placed in your chosen urn and returned to you within 5-7 days.

Common Questions

  • How much do ashes weigh? Approx 3-4% of the pet's body weight.
  • Is it eco-friendly? Yes, modern cremation uses minimal energy compared to burial.
  • Can I be present? Witnessing services are available upon request.
